As a stronghold for delicate, spicy crab cakes and fresh seafood including oysters from Chesapeake Bay, Greater Baltimore also has a wide assortment of restaurants specializing in other cuisines including classic American, Italian, Greek, Indian and other international cuisines to satisfy cravings from gourmet to ethnic. For marinara, head straight to Baltimore’s Little Italy. For something Irish and a different view of the harbor, try eateries near Fell’s Point. Fusion cuisine reigns in the Mt. Vernon area, whereas mom-style meatloaf is plentiful in Hampden. Many Baltimore restaurants serve vintages from nearby wineries including oak-aged cabernets, crisp chardonnays and dessert wines, plus specialty and spiced wines.
